Kalamazoo Chapter: Ringing Chords Since 1941!

Welcome to the new home of the Kalamazoo, MI chapter of the Barbershop Harmony Society! The chorus consists of various voices ranges, ages, experiences, and professions. Some of the members are new this season and some have participated with the group over ## years! In short, the Kalamazoo chapter of the Barbershop Harmony Society is a truly diversified group of gentlemen who enjoy ringing those barbershop chords while maintaining a high level of camaraderie and companionship.

Our chapter is proud to be a part of multiple organizations and have affiliations with many groups, both locally and nationally. In the Barbershop Harmony Society, we are an integral part of the Pioneer District. We are also a member of the Arts Council of Greater Kalamazoo. We also team up with the Mid-Lakes Chorus of Sweet Adelines on occasion. Lastly, we have affiliated with the Michigan Harmony Brigade.

The chorus meets every Tuesday from 7pm - 10pm in the SSJ Transformations Spirituality Center (formally known as Nazareth College), located at 3427 Gull Rd., Kalamazoo, MI.  For more information, or if you’d like to visit our chapter, please click here.

Michigan Harmony Brigade

Brigaders are Society members dedicated to Extreme Quartetting, freelance quartetting of high quality arrangements made famous by medalist-level quartets. We coordinate music choices Brigade-to- Brigade so that Brigaders from anywhere have a large common repertoire with other Brigaders. We gather at annual Brigade Rallies to pursue Extreme Quartetting. We commit to, and fulfill, the preparation this activity requires.

Please Excuse Our Mess...

On August 1st, 2009, our chapter inherited a new webmaster and in doing so, a completely rebuilt website! As you may have noticed, it is under major construction. While the webmaster has been diligent in keeping everything updated and functioning properly, you may find something out of place. If you find something that seems out of place or isn’t working properly, please let us know by informing the webmaster using the contact form and selecting “Technical Support.”

Also, feel free to tell us what you think of the new site by using the same contact form and rating us with the appropriate number of stars. We’d also be happy to hear your suggestions or comments!

Member Bios Now Available!

There are now a myriad of ways to access the new “Bios” section of the site. First, you should visit the “Chapter” section of the site by following the link in the navbar at the top. Next, you can select the member name from the roster or you can select the individual by clicking on that member’s face in the picture!

The Forums Are Up!

Everyone can now gain FREE access to our chapter forums! These forums have several purposes, which I will highlight below. They are meant for everyone including chapter members, guests, friends, and family. Registration is quick, free, and will give you full access. (Note: You won’t be able to view the forums until after your registration is completed.)

  1.     Members can discuss ongoing topics throughout the week, not just at rehearsal

  2.     Friends and family can keep abreast of the on goings with our chapter

  3.     Events will be able to be suggested, discussed, and followed up on.

  4.     Yet another resource to maintain the local barbershop community!
